We need more rental regulators. You want a sweet breathing new regulator. Let's get together! We could just order new rental regs but this way we both win.
Trade in your old 1st & 2nd stage from a regulator bought from Diving Enterprises and get $200 or more toward a new 1st & 2nd. Think of upgrading from a 1968 Conshelf 12 to the new super light, high performance Flyte from Apeks. Or the cool looking A700 from ScuaPro. How about a Legend from Aqulaung. It's your choice. Remember, you'll get at least $200, maybe more for your old reg. We'll even take octos and gauge sets in toward a complete package.
First choice goes to regulators bought from Diving Enterprises. If you bought it from another dive store we will give you a trade in, but not as good as for our regular customers. Only Aqualung, US DIvers, Apeks, and ScubaPro can be used for trade-ins.
Oh yeah, this ends whenever we have built up our rentals to meet our needs.
We have a few excellent shots of the friendly manatee from this years trip. Check them out in the Gallery. Thanks to Mel Williams for those. Also, thanks to everyone who went with us and helped make the trip enjoyable. Before you know it, it will be time to register for our other trips this year. Don't miss out.
Manatee Trip Report
# 917 : Date Posted: Feb 17, 2010
We're back from the trip and the Manatees were a blast! The trip down was cold, rainy, snowy, dreary, and cold. We hit snow in Georgia! Not much but the forecast called for three inches in Savannah. You can imagine what we thought the weekend would be like. Saturday dawned cold and overcast. Looked like a miserable day until we set out. On the way to Blue Grotto the sun came out and things improved dramatically. Once at Blue Grotto we had lots of sun and no wind so the temperatures were warmer than expected. Of course the water was 72 degrees as always. Unfortunately, the high amounts of rain caused the visibility to be down to about 30-40 feet in the main area. Back in the cavern area visibility was excellent. Sunday started chilly at the dock. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about getting the boats ready for us but we finally took off for the manatees. As soon as we dropped anchor a baby Manatee came right up to the boat. Ken was the first to pet a Manatee and he never even got in the water. Everyone swam into the keyhole area of Banana Island where there were about a dozen very friendly manatees. A usual, they taught us our place, humans were put on earth to scratch manatees. Some people reported up to 5 manatees vying for attention. The only problem was getting the divers attention to come back to the boat so we could head off to Rainbow River. Rainbow was good as usual but suffering from the same decreased visibility due to runoff. Visibility was between 30-40 feet with up to 60 near the springs. We saw a couple of baby turtles along with the excellent bird and fish life. This trip seemed to run smoother than usual and we were all back in Virginia by 8pm Monday evening.
Back Issues Of Old Scuba Magazines - Free
# 916 : Date Posted: Feb 17, 2010
We have found some back issues of old scuba magazines. These date back to the early 70s. These are interesting reading as they show how things were 20 to 40 year ago. Especially enlightening is how little prices have changed over the years. Plus, much equipment we think was invented in the last couple of decades really came from the 70s. Want to read about the "good old days? of scuba? Come on down and pick up few issues. Free to anyone. Limit three per month per family for as long as they last. You can even bring them back when you're done and let someone else look them over.
