Q and A: Do You Sell The New 4500 PSI Aluminum Tanks?

We were asked about the new aluminum tank that is rated to 4500psi. A little info.
These new tanks are similar to an aluminum 80 with which we are all so familiar. The most apparent difference is the wrapping around the tank to increase the rated pressure. This allows a cylinder to hold up to 25% more air than a comprable sized, lower pressure cylinder. To use thes new cylinders all compnenets, includeing the regulator and pressure gauge, must be compatible with the higher pressures.
Another difference in these new cylinders is in testing procedures. Hydrostatic testing has additional erquirements and the cylinders have a defined life after which they must be discarded.
Before purchasing one of these new cylinders make sure you are fully familiar with all the requiremtns of the higher pressures.
