Q and A: How do I clean my wetsuit?

A wetsuit will get dirty or develop an "odor" with use. Fortunately, it is easy to clean and deodorize a wetsuit. To clean any smells use an enzymatic cleaner (Myrazine or Stink Guard are two types). These remove the source of the smell from the garments. What is especially nice is that you can wash almost anything in these. Just fill a bathtub half full and add the cleaner. You can wash as much as you want as they are effective until the tub is drained.

At least twice a year you should wash the suit with a Wetsuit Shampoo. These will clean out the dirt and other stuff that gets in your suit. Plus, many have chemicals to help the neoprene and to neutralize chlorine. When you are done hang your suit up right side out on a wetsuit hanger or a very thick hanger. Thin hangers will damage the neoprene and wire hangers will destroy it.
