Q and A: Why don't you have the river information on your web site?
We do. Just go to the local diving section and look under Pepper's Ferry. You'll find a link to the river flow report.
The lower chart shows the river level. Levels below 1 tend to have very sluggish flow and often have a fair amount of suspended particles interferring with good visibility.
Levels over 3 indicate very high flow, often difficult to swim against. Visibility will often be bad at high flow because the current stirs thign up and carries them along.
We have found the best conditions at about 2.25 to 2.5.
Remember, these flows can change quickly so check the conditions when you arrivce to make sure the diving is still suitable for you.
